Waterproofing agent mold release agent of aluminum die-casting polydimethylsiloxane
A new generation of mold release agent based on R-polysiloxane
The latest generation release agent component is R-polysiloxane. This product group has been incorporated into mold release formulations to ensure mold release at ever-increasing tool temperatures. One of the predecessors of R-polysiloxane is traditional silicone oil, which can fill molds, visually appealing components, and demold at high tool temperatures. However, its use in industrial applications soon showed that the silicone oil used has a major disadvantage that limits the further use of die-casting: a lot of interference and damage to the subsequent painting process. Therefore, an alternative provided by R-polysiloxane is needed. Today, according to their chemical composition, this group of substances can ensure that die castings are demolded at the highest tool temperature and provide most of the advantages of silicone oil, that is, a visually flawless casting surface and a good flow of molten metal enhancement.
These substances also provide excellent adhesion to the mold surface, and can be very well and easily removed by the typical cleaning process due to the decomposition products of R-polysiloxane on the casting surface (with wax Compared to residues) today. This is based on the similar properties of R-polysiloxane and synthetic oil. The shear stability of R-polysiloxane is very good, making this type of material very suitable for use in central supply systems. In addition, the relatively high raw material prices are compensated by the high dilution rates that can be obtained. In addition, R-polysiloxane proved to have the least negative impact on the welding connection process. It should be noted that when a release agent with a high content of R-polysiloxane is used, the lubricating effect will be lower than the release effect. This information is especially important for die cast parts with minimum draft. Just like the wax component, R-polysiloxane can cause deposits in the mold cavity in some cases.
Aluminum die casting:
The demand for more complex components and shorter cycle times prompted Kentian to develop mold release agents that provide better wetting and film formation at higher mold temperatures. The advantage of these new products is that they improve surface adhesion at higher mold temperatures and reduce the time required to form a release film. The well-balanced high-quality ingredients can improve demolding, higher quality castings, lower porosity, and better protection of the mold from welding and corrosion.
